Meet the Founders Behind Precious Minds Academy

Samuel W. Lacount, M.A.Ed., has spent more than 20 years in the field of special education, including over 10 years of experience in early intervention. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting children and families during some of the most important years of a child’s development.

Precious Minds Academy was created from both my professional experience and my personal passion for helping parents feel informed, supported, and encouraged when developmental concerns begin. I understand that for many families, questions about milestones can feel overwhelming. My goal is to provide a trusted place where parents can find guidance, practical tools, and clear next steps with confidence.

At the heart of Precious Minds Academy is a simple belief: Every mind is precious and every child can learn. This platform was built to give families clarity, support, and hope as they navigate their child’s developmental journey.

Meet the Co- Founder Behind Precious Minds Academy

LaShonya S. Lacount, M.S., CCC-SLP, is an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist with more than 21 years of experience serving infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-aged children. She specializes in early speech and language development, articulation, language delays, and social communication skills. Mrs. Lacount has extensive experience working in early intervention, preschool, and public school settings, helping families and educators support children during critical developmental years.

She is the founder of Practical Therapy Solutions, LLC, where she provides speech-language services, mentorship, and educational resources for families and clinicians. Her passion is making speech and language learning engaging, practical, and accessible for young children through play-based strategies, music, storytelling, and interactive learning.

Mrs. Lacount is also the creator of the educational children’s brand “Play, Say, and Sing with Boo Bear & Friends,” which incorporates songs, characters, and preschool-friendly content to support communication and early literacy skills. Mrs. Lacount regularly collaborates with teachers, caregivers, and professionals to promote developmental success both at home and in educational settings.

Her work focuses on empowering families with tools and knowledge to help children communicate with confidence. Through her clinical expertise and creative educational approach, she is committed to helping young learners build strong communication foundations for lifelong success.
